Training Workshop Scholarships

There are three types of scholarships for participants in the Organizations Alive!
2-day Workshop. They are for non-profit organizations, for students of organization behaviour, and for graduates of the MSOD program at Pepperdine University. The reasons for providing scholarships are based on the belief that:

·         Volunteers are the backbone of our society.

·         Young people are the leaders of tomorrow.

·         There is ‘plenty’ to go around.

1. Non-Profit Organization

For every ten people registered in the 2-day Workshop, there will be one space made available, free-of-change, to a member of a non-profit organization, which strives to meet the basic needs (food, clothing, shelter, medical, safety, etc.) of those who are less fortunate. Specifically, the purpose of this scholarship is to provide training that might not otherwise be afforded, to help focus efforts, time, and money on:

·         Identifying a clear sense of purpose and direction,

·         Managing resources in a careful and responsible way,

·         Addressing the wants and needs of those served, and

·         Employing the talents and energies of all members of the organization,

...
in order to become vibrant and remarkable organizations in these extraordinary times.

Some examples of charities that have participated in this capacity include, The Christmas Exchange, Ottawa Community Immigrant Services, and LASI World Skills.

2. Students

For every ten people registered in the 2-day Workshop, there will be one space provided to a student of organization behaviour at the rate of $250.

Specifically, the purpose of this scholarship is to encourage and equip young people, as they choose their career path, to positively influence and help create vibrant and remarkable organizations.

3. MSOD Graduates

Beginning in August 2009, one seat on the 2-day Workshop is offered each year to a graduate of the current MSOD Program at Pepperdine University. This scholarship is not time-limited, however only one scholarship seat is available for each workshop. It does not include travel to and from the workshop or related living expenses.

Please direct your inquiries, about these scholarships, through any of the contact methods below.
